How to Use CRM and Email Marketing Automations with Communities (Circles)

By integrating your communities with email marketing and CRM, you can:

• Deliver timely, personalized emails to increase engagement.
• Automate onboarding, reminders, and promotional campaigns.
• Track exactly how members are interacting with your content.
• Create a seamless experience that turns community members into loyal customers.

• Go to your Circle settings (Community settings).
• Under Email Marketing Integration:
• Add to List: Choose an email list where members will automatically be added once they enroll. Example: Course List.
• Add Tag: Create or select a tag to label these members. Example: Course Tag.
• Members will be added to your chosen list and tagged as soon as they join the circle.

• As members interact in your circle, the CRM automatically logs key activities, including:
• Enrolling in a circle
• Completing specific pages or groups
• Completing the entire community (circle)
• View these activities in each member's CRM profile > Activities tab, with timestamps for easy tracking.

• Go to Messaging & Workflows > Automations > Create Automation.
• Select the “Blank Automation” Automation Flow
• Name your automation
• Choose Trigger options specific to communities:
• Enrolled into a Circle: Starts an automation when a member joins a selected circle.
• Completed Content in a Circle: Starts an automation when a member finishes a specific page, group, or the entire community.
• Select the relevant circle and set your follow-up actions, such as:
• Sending a welcome or congratulations email
• Applying additional tags
• Adding to another list

• In your automation builder, you can add actions such as:
• Enroll in a Circle: Move a contact automatically into another circle.
• Unenroll from a Circle: Remove access to a circle based on actions or conditions (e.g., subscription ended, completed a certain module).

• You can enable double opt-in for new subscribers added through your circles to ensure members confirm their email address before receiving your campaigns.

• Navigate to Contacts.
• Click on a contact to see:
• Lists they are part of
• Tags assigned
• Circle enrollment status
• Detailed activity logs (e.g., content completed, reactions posted)
