Upsells and downsells are powerful tools to increase average order value with minimal effort. In Big Easy Website Creation, you can add 1-click post-checkout offers or even show upsell pop-ups when someone adds a product to their cart. This guide walks you through setting up upsell and downsell pages, customizing offers, and tracking results in your funnel analytics.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Start with a Checkout Page
- Go to the Checkout Page in your funnel.
- Ensure the page includes a Checkout Widget.
- Once detected, the system activates upsell functionality.
2. Add an Upsell Page
- Click the button below the checkout step to add a next step.
- Select from the Upsells & Downsells template library (choose a design).
- Name your page (e.g., “Upsell 1”) and click Add.
- After the page is created, you'll see a special upsell widget with two buttons:
- Accept Offer (buy now)
- Decline Offer (no thanks)
🧩 These buttons are only available on upsell/downsell pages.
3. Select the Upsell Product
- Click the Accept Offer button.
- Choose the product to upsell.
- Optional: Override the price to offer a limited-time discount.
- Customize button text and layout.
4. Add a Downsell Page (Optional)
- After the upsell step, click Add Downsell.
- Select a different product and customize messaging.
- The downsell page appears only if the upsell is declined.
5. Test the Experience
- Preview the funnel.
- Complete the checkout with a test product.
- After the order, the system:
- Redirects to the upsell page
- Then optionally to the downsell page
- Finally to the Thank You page
- Click Buy Now on upsell/downsell to auto-charge the customer—no info re-entry.
6. Track Funnel Performance
- Go to Funnel Analytics to view:
- Number of visits to each step
- Upsell and downsell conversion rates
- Revenue generated per upsell/downsell
7. Optional: Upsell with a Pop-Up on Add to Cart
- In your product section, edit the Add to Cart button.
- Set an action to show a Pop-Up instead of going directly to checkout.
- To create/edit pop-ups:
- Go to Pages > Pop-Ups
- Add product widgets or custom offers
- Save and link to your button
