Overview

Split testing your homepage can dramatically increase conversions by helping you identify which design, messaging, or layout performs best. With the Home Funnel feature in Big Easy Website Creation, you can test multiple homepage variations in real time—no third-party tools required. This guide walks you through setting up your first homepage split test and tracking results to pick a winner.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create a Blank Home Funnel

  • Go to Funnels and click + Create Funnel.
  • Choose the Blank Funnel option and name it (e.g., “Home Funnel”).
  • Click Save.
2. Make the Funnel Your Homepage

  • Open Funnel Settings for your new Home Funnel.
  • Select Set as Homepage to make this funnel the default landing page.
3. Move Your Current Homepage into the Funnel

  • Navigate to your existing homepage under Pages.
  • Click the 3 dots menu > Move to Funnel.
  • Choose your newly created Home Funnel.
4. Set Up A/B Testing Variations

  • Within the Home Funnel, click + A/B Test on your homepage step.
  • Create two (or more) versions of your homepage.
    • Vary headlines, images, button text, colors, or layouts.
  • Save changes after editing each version.
5. Add a Destination Page to Track Conversions

  • Add a second step in the funnel (e.g., Contact Page, Appointment Page).
  • This step should match your homepage’s call to action.
  • Big Easy Website Creation will now automatically track how many visitors go from each version of your homepage to this next step.
6. Monitor Conversion Rates

  • Open your Home Funnel to see the conversion percentages from each variation.
  • The system displays:
    • How many users visited each version (A or B)
    • How many clicked through to the next step
    • Conversion rates for each version
7. Select a Winner

  • Click the gear icon on the funnel step.
  • Choose to:
    • Automatically select a winner once a visitor threshold is reached
    • Manually select the best-performing version at any time
8. Optimize Campaign Landing Pages

  • Use the same method for:
    • Sales pages
    • Lead generation landing pages
    • Product promotions
  • Split test variations to fine-tune messaging, layouts, or offers.
